Polymarket’s V2 upgrade requires integrations to maintain dual systems for old and new contracts
Polymarket’s own migration guidance confirms that bets placed under the exchange’s older Conditional Tokens Framework will not automatically convert to its new Protocol V2 contracts, forcing trading integrations to run two parallel systems for weeks. The split matters for institutional desks and market makers building on Polymarket because collateral approvals, position identifiers and signing standards now differ between the old and new ledgers, raising the risk of failed trades during the transition.
- Polymarket’s migration guidance tells integrations to keep supporting CTF holdings while adding a separate system for V2 positions and permissions.
- Canary test markets run from October 5 through October 30, ahead of a tentative switch for newly created markets on November 2.
