Interview of the Year
Charles Hoskinson interview on the Crypto Coin Show 1:24:00

Charles Hoskinson on the Clarity Act, privacy infrastructure, and what he would tell himself before Cardano

Charles Hoskinson — Co-Founder of Ethereum, Founder & CEO of Input Output Global (Cardano)

Eighty four minutes, unscripted. Charles makes the case that the Clarity Act needs a full overhaul rather than amendments, demos the Midnight Passport live, defends the fourth generation blockchain framing, and answers the hardest question about privacy chains head on: what happens when bad actors show up.

“Clarity is good for me in its current form. If it passes, the things I’ve built are not securities and my competitors will be. But I’m looking at it as an industry.”

About

About the Crypto Coin Show

The Crypto Coin Show is a long form video interview series covering blockchain, digital assets, and the companies building them. Host Ashton Addison sits down with founders, investors, exchange operators, protocol engineers, and the lawyers and regulators shaping the rules, in conversations that run long enough to get past the pitch deck.

The show has published more than 1,500 interviews since 2014, making it one of the longest running independent video archives in the industry. New episodes publish weekly on YouTube, where the channel has passed 150,000 subscribers, and selected interviews are syndicated through Reuters and Refinitiv TV to an institutional audience of roughly 600,000 finance professionals.

Coverage spans Bitcoin and Ethereum, DeFi and stablecoins, real world asset tokenization, institutional crypto and ETFs, Layer 1 and Layer 2 infrastructure, and the growing overlap between AI and blockchain. Episodes are recorded remotely and on location at major industry conferences throughout the year.

The Crypto Coin Show is produced by BlockWest Media, and won Best Interviews in 2022 and again in 2025.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I get on the show as a guest?

Send an introduction through the contact page with your company, what you are building, and what you want to talk about. Bookings favour founders and operators with something specific and current to discuss rather than a general overview of the space.

Do you work with PR agencies?

Regularly. A large share of interviews are coordinated by agency teams on behalf of their clients, and we are set up to work to agency timelines, embargoes, and approval processes. Agencies can pitch a roster of clients at once through the contact page.

Where are episodes distributed?

Every episode publishes to YouTube and to this video hub. Selected interviews are syndicated through Reuters and Refinitiv TV, reaching roughly 600,000 institutional finance professionals, and clips run across the Crypto Coin Show social channels and the newsletter.

How often do new interviews publish?

Weekly, with additional episodes recorded on location during major conference weeks. The events calendar shows which conferences are coming up.

Do you offer sponsored or branded interviews?

Yes. Sponsored interviews, distribution packages, and event coverage are available, and sponsored placements are labelled as such. Get in touch through the contact page for the current media kit and rates.

Who hosts the Crypto Coin Show?

Ashton Addison, founder of Crypto Coin Show and BlockWest Media. He has been interviewing people in this industry since 2014 and has recorded more than 1,500 conversations.

Can I license or re-publish an interview?

Licensing and syndication of full episodes or clips is handled case by case. Reach out through the contact page with the episode and the intended use.
