I'm Jay Addison from event change audio for investmentpitch media and FinTech news network on blockchain interviews this week we have Dennis averin from the Malta blockchain summit Dennis how are you doing today I'm doing great thank you tell us a little bit about how you got involved in the blockchain space and then a little bit about the Malta blockchain summit coming up yeah so
basically I started when I when I came to Malta I was about two years ago I first went into one of these Investment Promotion firms and became involved with the AI gaming space real Malta Motors as you know it's like the center of excellence for AI gaming companies like online casinos and Bansi yeah I was involved in writing the compliance fight for that okay and from from there it's
like an easy step into chambers merging so obviously and you feel that's operating under under quite uncertain regulatory status mhm and I always fascinated me because I because of the decentralization of trust and also like automate this process in a way that I think is unique and that can bring a lot of benefits for human societies at large
yeah you're absolutely right Dennis blockchain is gonna change the world it really is so what is the when is the conference coming up and then tell us a little bit about the venue that the conference is going to be held in the summit the conference is coming up in the 1st and 2nd of November now it's closing in quite quite quickly so very we can definitely feel the buzz here at
the summit we're a team of 20 30 people and working around the clock to make everything lined up for the conference and so it's four conferences one to nine hackathon an IC o—- page those have encrypted crews and we have we're expecting five thousand delegates and this flow plan of our Expo is we're having huge we have a huge Expo it's about 300 exhibitors already sold out
Wow this sounds really exciting what kind of information could attendees expect to learn coming to the summit well our four conferences are domestic so we have one on regulatory and another one on marketing and investments then the third one is on does the Developers Conference at the base we detect conference and then we also have the
token omics conference so first of all I would say the regulatory one is of course a very interesting conference since Malta is launching a regulatory package for botching technologies and so everyone who comes to that conference will definitely learn how Malta builds its regulatory framework we have a handle on that and then we have a number of other other regulatory issues
discussed such as tax capital gains from from printer and criminal liability in cyberspace all these like three key legal questions that's very important yeah that's the local knowledge base but then tech conference with the right speakers from across the world
and one of the co-inventors of Technology and he's got on how we can learn about long chains future from from knowing its past because he has been in space for as long as that's great that sounds fantastic
so you've been talking about Malta now Malta has almost become the destination for blockchain companies can you speak to us a little bit about why that's happening I know that by nance has actually moved to Malta as well so give us a little bit of an insight on what's happening in Malta for all these partying companies yeah so basically the government signed into to regulate book
trade and it was a bold move and since they announced that by risking violence to announce that they're going to set up an office in boats and then came oke s as well and we have a number of other exchanges that are followed such as CB X and so on and basically when I guess you know they did a beastly they want to operate under under proper regulations that will give
them peace of mind that's what they're doing is legal and most as a as a history of providing this frame these sort of frameworks from from the past and it was a huge success when Walter launched the eigen regulations back in 2005 also was the first jurisdiction to do that as well so that's definite know what is doing in terms of launching this regulations yeah
it seems to me very forward-thinking that's for sure yeah yeah it's so punching above its above its weight as well but that's that's the way there is a very pragmatic country with politicians who are sticking together there is always this consensus mechanism so even if the current government would lose office years the opposition stands behind the regulations as well so
it's very stable politically and I think that's why many many companies find trust in Malta stations because there is basically consensus on all these all these areas yeah sure sounds like now do you expect startups and investors from just the European area or globally for this summit globally globally okay interesting Singapore Hong Kong we have
songs from South Korea we have a lot of people coming from the United States from Silicon Valley New York Seattle Austin delegates as well that sounds great now what are the obstacles that you faced in promoting a blockchain conference as opposed to a general technology industry conference let's say well you know it's obviously Facebook some words that they don't like us to
use such as the B word chain if you use that word you can't push an iron for instance yeah but that's been been a challenge and some obstacles to overcome so we had to market it completely organically without any paid advertising in social media because it doesn't work yeah that sounds great now along that same line what creative ways have you used to
reach that younger demographic the younger demographic is yeah I mean Twitter and telegram is probably the best channels to reach them also read it yeah that resonance yeah but I think I think in general I mean the bull training space is the jungle demographic by itself so yeah your anything particular strategy just for the younger
demographic it's rather the opposite we need to price yeah that's a great point how long is this conference being in the making how long have you been working on setting this thing up police is the founder and the CEO he started working on this in December last year I jumped in February March this year and I would say yeah since January sight has
been off now what's the best way for people to learn more about the blockchain summer what's the website address and they would go to you go and see multiple chains summit calm and there you can find all the information on the speaker's agenda and yeah which by take out my tickets keep in mind that if you're a blockchain developer or affiliates you can get a free ticket
because we definitely want to encourage developers to come to the conference so you have a free pass if you if you yeah it's fantastic Dennis Avron from the multi-block change summit has certainly been a pleasure having you on blockchain interviews today and we'd like to do a follow up and just see how the summit turns out
sure you're gonna be having more so let's let's get together again in the future and have another interview and do a follow-up on this one thanks for your time thanks Dennis thank you thank you
