Key takeaways
  • Energi structures itself as a corporate entity with ongoing governance rather than relying on volunteer work like Bitcoin.
  • The project allocates 40% of bi-weekly coin issuance to a self-funding Treasury that pays developers, marketers, and operations staff.
  • Energi chose a fair launch without ICO or premine to avoid the scams and founder favoritism common in the space.
  • The platform combines transaction speed similar to Dash with Treasury and masternode systems similar to Pivx, plus planned smart contract capabilities.
  • Masternodes receive generous bi-weekly allocations with low barrier to entry, and the project distributed over one million coins through airdrops globally.

I'm ashtin Addison from a vincentio for investmentpitch media and FinTech news network and today on blockchain interviews we have David Doss the VP of Marketing for the energy project I'm really excited to talk to you today welcome to the show David thank you great to be here awesome thank you so much so if you could start out a little bit with what

is the energy project and how did you get involved yeah so energy is cryptocurrency for world adoption and I got involved actually coming from more of let's call it a traditional tech and fin tech background some you know so Khan Valley experienced ecommerce most recently was at city bank's fin tech branch and I got involved I would say

largely out of the division that I saw in the company so something that I find relatively unique for the space is this sort of conscious ongoing effort to structure energy as a corporate entity that can stand the test of time that can grow on an ongoing basis grow the community improve the tech stack in a

scalable fashion and really end up as a key player that is maintained in an ongoing basis much like a major tech corporations such as Facebook or Google that's awesome it's great to hear and so with energy you guys you know it can be confusing for some people because there are a lot of other projects around that are to do with energy and they have

energy in the name but you guys really aren't about energy consumption and you mention it you're about world adoption of cryptocurrency so it's it's a much bigger project than just energy so could you really give us like a you know fully encompassing what is energy about all over yeah for sure so Energy's name comes from let's call it more the philosophy of money so it's

a great point that you call out there so the website is very deliberately named WWE energy world and really those two thoughts energy and the world combined this is really where that kind of vision comes together so if you think about think about money really its its energy or exertion and a sort of a unit of work in a way work

that or energy that is exchanged between people so the true currency of the earth of the world isn't really money you know the stuff on paper is really just a symbol for that energy for that exchange of value of work so really the currency of the earth is energy and that's where energy gets its name that you know instead of you know a lot of fiat currencies which are really

dictated by governments a crypto currency has the potential to be dictated by the relationships between people by supply and demand and is in that sense a mathematical representation of energy being exchanged between people so that's that's where sort of the purpose of the name comes to play that's awesome and that makes total sense and you know to further put that in

perspective you know a simple analysis of Bitcoin shows that you need to put in energy through the proof of work algorithm and if you don't put in energy and time into that then it really doesn't add any value to the coin itself so you know we can talk about the consensus algorithms but I'd love to know more about the energy blockchain and you know how you guys are competing

with you know who are the top competitive block chains that you're competing with yeah so maybe this is a good opportunity to kind of talk about the overarching structures so if you think about that primary goal of really becoming a globally adoptable crypto currency and the way that we are going about that which is by structuring the tech stack and structuring the token

mix of it to be scalable and to support an ongoing ecosystem if you think about that golden structure than sort of the bullet points under that make a bit more sense so some of the ways that we have been supporting that which are all part of a working cryptocurrency that's live in production on different exchanges some of those ways are that we have some of the

highest allocations I know of in the space for pond chain governance and for Treasury so we've been able as let's call it kind of a fast follower in the space you know bitcoins been around for well ten years coming up around Halloween right but we've been able as a fast follower in the space to look at you know what's been working and how can we essentially do that better as well as

what's not been working and how can we kind of try to steer away from that so let's say with a project like Bitcoin while you know amazing groundbreaking all this stuff it relies largely off of a volunteer work force so that's where the treasury really comes to play it with in energy we have a bi-weekly coin issuance and 40% of the coins issued go

into a Treasury of energy core essentially a separate legal entity that pays marketers and developers and ops folks by the hour to you know improve the tech stack grow the community operationalize you know our various processes and so that's that's one of the key features that self-funding Treasury the other one right now being the on chain governance we have also one

of the highest allocations for punching governance so this is a fully functional voting app proposal Network basically sort of a cryptographic pseudonymous next-generation version of essentially stock you know preferred and common stock where it has those investor voting rights but also those investor dividends through master notes so right now our master notes have this allocation that

goes on a bi-weekly basis highly generous allocation and they also have a low barrier to entry so all in all including the master notes I would say that you know including the self-funding Treasury another key scene here is essentially a fair launch so allowing a sort of a low barrier to entry with generous rewards for the masternodes so that a lot of different

players around the world can get involved allowing we have had a very generous earn drop we call it an earned drop so most people say airdrop or bounty but very generous airdrop program that we've dropped over a million energy to thousands of people around the world and we continue to do that it's really aiming to distribute as globally and as fairly as possible and then on that note

of fairness as well to really kind of stimulate the global adoption we chose not to do on ICO which you know there are some excellent projects out there doing an ICO but there have also been you know a lot of scams a lot of sort of bad blood so in our desire to do a fair launch we chose to steer clear that all together and kind of a last less related note

that we chose not to do a clean line so that's been another sort of structure that has created a lot of bad blood in the space where you know essentially it can disproportionately reward the founders and those early on in the project so really aiming to have that global good face and an a globally scalable structure behind that's awesome to hear you know the reward system that

you know cyclically moves intrinsically the members in the community to continue to reward them and to grow the community is it sounds like the proper way to do it and the fact that you guys you know didn't do an ICO you're fairly distributing these coins throughout thousands of members of your community as you mentioned I'm sure it will be growing expensively in the next year it

sounds a lot more similar to these original crypto currencies like Bitcoin aetherium people that are you know validating the network and they have a very wide distribution of coins you know that's very fair so I really like the approach that you guys have made with that thank you yes some good points really we call this the traditional cryptocurrency of tomorrow

so it is that kind of you know doing it sort of the old-fashioned way in the ways that work but also introducing new ways right not everything new is inherently good not everything old is inherently good it ultimately comes down to you know blending the two to drive the most value and you know to your point about about these different currencies you know really aiming to in

a sense combine the value of a few of these so we have the you know the transact ability the speed of transact ability of say adapt with the sort of Treasury and masternode type of systems of say you know vivix and all of that is live and in production but on top of that were actively working on building out a smart contract platform so really aiming to drive those

kinds of sort of multi value network effects for the end consumer along the lines of something like an etherium that's great you guys are developing a smart contracting platform as well so maybe tell us a little bit more about your team you know are they prepared to grow this currency to you know known globally and used by everybody in the world you know who created this and who

are you working with right now yeah so this is this is a really important issue you know you can have vision all you want and strategy but you have to have the right people to you know turn that into a reality so I would say you know one of the main reasons well really the two that I decided to join the team in the first place were you know that vision that strategy but also really the

team behind it and you need both so yeah the founder is Tommy world power who is an investor and influencer in the space he's been involved in you know investing in I SEOs and other projects including a cerium ion Dragon chain and a bunch of other sort of key you know successful projects historically and you know he was able to see you know what's

been creating value and what's been you know run against the wall and you know how can we essentially make this cryptocurrency done right so then on top of that we also have a very robust team from kind of a combination of different backgrounds so we have some kind of more traditional tech call it of say Intel Accenture we have also more kind of you

know traditional finance type background Credit Suisse Royal Bank of Scotland City and also you know again you know across the you know between our founder and our advisors and team members we have also you know folks who've been involved in various cryptocurrency projects before as well such as the ones I mentioned so I'd say you know the experience is there the vision is

there and you know really aiming to take the best of all those different worlds that I was mentioning and build them into an even better world that's great thank you and what are you and your team working on you know in the next six months what's on the energy roadmap of coming here for the community yeah so I would say top of mind right now is the smart contract platform so

we're aiming to have that built and ready to go within the next six months you really see that as a key way to drive value for you know all concerned those who are involved as you know investors enthusiasts sort of end consumers also bring more value to you know the gap creation space where you know this would be a self-funding and

launching governance oriented smart contract platform so it would have the tools and resources to help out those those projects and those gaps but it would also have the voting and governance to say hey you know this type of you know this type of feature in this type of project is driving value or is not driving value and that's something that the community can

essentially fine-tune and adjusts or you know across the board as the community grows at the end of the day you know right now there's there's a bit of a let's call it a an arms race for transactions per second on these smart contract platforms and while that's you know while it's a powerful thing to have a lot of processing capability it's you know potentially an equally powerful

thing to be able to actually got at the direction so if you if you just look at it from you know what you can process and you don't look at the quality of what's being processed then you're missing something and if you have the governance in place to adjust the quality of what's being processed then that is a valuable addition to you know they did the speed of the network I

definitely agree and I'm a little bit curious about a little bit more about the energy token is it easy to store in a wallet is it easy to transact and use the masternode features that you talked about earlier yes so it's you know we are alive on three different exchanges so we're you know aiming to aiming to have even more partnerships you know over the next six months as well back to

that point about roadmap so you know really robust tech roadmap I guess wouldn't be fair to everyone to kind of go into all of it but you know lots of exciting stuff including you know a new wallet updates transitions from proof of work into proof of stake you know a lot of partnership plans in process but right now yeah we have we have a mobile wallet integration for

Android and iOS via the quantum e wallet there's a multi multi cryptocurrency wallet and then we have our own desktop wallet you know for mac and Windows the masternodes as I mentioned we've we've designed to have you know financially a low barrier to entry but also investment wise to have a very high sort of rewards ratio to that I would say you know masternodes

are still something that are kind of that you know cutting-edge tech they require a little bit of setup and you know a little bit of work to get them running but we have we're in partnership right now with you know various types of programs to essentially lower the various entry there so getting some automation involved sort of scripts that kind of stuff to get this kind of

technology into the hands of less technical folks that's awesome hey I really appreciate you taking the time today David to inform us on energy if the viewers are looking to get more involved what's the best way to learn more about your project yeah a number of different resources to check out so we have our website WWN RG world we have a white paper on

there were listed on Wayne market cap on masternodes dot online we're also on three different exchanges which are crypto Pia coin exchange and crypto bridge so two central to centralized and one decentralized we're also running an airdrop program right now for Canada and the USA is our round two and then our round three is Europe

Australia and New Zealand so you know if you're part of those you can renovate right now in an airdrop bounty program I would say you know one of the more generous of its kind and we also plan to do another global round of that coming soon so you know if you're not in those countries you can also sign up on our website to learn more about that so lots

of different ways to get involved awesome thank you so much David I'll leave those details in the description below as well so the viewers can easily access it and I'm looking forward to speaking to you next time Mike Wallace thank you so much you
