Brave Roadmap 4.0
Published July 9, 2026, BAT Roadmap 4.0 is Brave's plan to turn a browser with 120M+ users into a payments network. Most Brave users have never touched crypto, so the goal is a self-custody wallet and card that feel as simple as Venmo, with $BAT rewards and buybacks tied to the revenue they generate.
- 122Mmonthly active users
- 50Mdaily active users
- 5Mdaily Brave Rewards opt-ins
- 2M+verified creators and sites

A virtual and physical stablecoin-powered card for everyday spending that earns BAT on purchases. Issuer partner still to be announced.
BravePay protocol
Self-custody stablecoin payments with .brave addresses, direct fiat on-ramps and GENIUS Act-compliant stablecoins. Merchant support comes later.
AI agent payments
Browser support for x402 and the Machine Payments Protocol, so AI agents can pay for content and APIs, including Brave Search API.
Creator Contribution Protocol
A verifiable way for AI systems to pay micro-royalties back to the registered Brave Creators whose work they use.
Open-source SDKs
BravePay and Rewards SDKs so merchants and app developers can plug into BravePay, Brave Ads and millions of creators.
